Programme Highlights
The San Wai sewage treatment works is an expansion project with
greening idea. The existing San Wai Sewage Treatment Works (SWSTW) was
constructed in the 1980s and completed in 1992 for civil works and 1993 for
E&M works. The plant is to be expanded and upgraded to chemical treatments
with disinfection to improve the effluent quality.
The project is a designated project under Schedule 2 of the
Environmental Impact Assessment Ordinance (Chapter 499). Environmental measures
were taken to implement the requirement of Environmental Impact Assessment
report. Projects focus on sustainable development, target to obtain BEAM Plus
Platinum Rating. To support sustainable development, the contractor established
sustainable policy and conducted carbon audit for the project. With the efforts
put into the project on improving environmental performance, the project has
awarded Outstanding Environmental Management & Performance Award under 24th
Considerate Contractors Site Award Scheme.

seminar is charged HKD$50 transportation included and prior registration is
required. The number of participants is limited to 20. Applications will be
accepted on a first-come-first-served basis with priority given to members of EVD
Division. For registration, please
complete the online enrollment form in EV Division website (http://ev.hkie.org.hk).The
deadline for registration is 2nd April 2019. Successful applicants
will be notified by email individually. CPD certificates will be issued after
the event. The participants must
prepared their own safety shoes and green card. Helmet and Reflective vest will
