Date, time & venue

2018-10-29;18:30-20:00;Chan Yat Mei Sophie Room – 9/F

Organised by HKIE-EVD and CIWEM HK

Programme Highlights:-

All major international development banks have special environmental and social safeguard requirements for their funded projects. They believe that the best way to minimize investment risk is to minimize environmental and social risks. With reference to projects which he has advised as a consultant, Prof. Lam will outline what those major requirements are and how they differ from the current EIA system in Hong Kong. He will also highlight how those environmental and social considerations have evolved overtime in response to global concerns about climate change, biodiversity loss, social inequality and cultural heritage conservation.  This seminar will be of interest to those interested in professional opportunities in international infrastructure projects, particularly those under the Belt Road Initiative.
