Programme highlight

Po Toi Island is currently not connected to the electricity grid and the residents rely on diesel generators. HK Electric is conceiving to build a photovoltaic solar power system to provide electricity supply to local residents.  A new idea has been developed to use the retired lithium-ion batteries from electric vehicles of HK Electric as part of the battery energy storage system. This design has got the champion in the International Competition on Second Life for Retired Batteries from Electric Vehicles organized by the Environment Bureau.

Brief Biograph

Ir C.K. Lau was graduated from Hong Kong Polytechnic and joined HK Electric since graduation until today. He had over 30 years of experience in the Power Industry. His present capacity with HK Electric is General Manager (Projects) and is responsible for the development of generation, transmission and renewable energy projects.
