Programme Highlights:

Tseung Kwan O Desalination Plant (TKODP) is one of the strategic infrastructures by Water Supplies Department (WSD) in its mission to provide reliable and adequate supply of wholesome potable water. Upon commissioning of the First Stage of TKODP, the production capacity of potable water is around 135 million liters per day (MId), equivalent to 5% of daily fresh water consumption in Hong Kong with future expansion to ultimate capacity of 270Mld.

 

Throughout the visit, the member can understand how environmental implication application in the design, construction and  operation of desalination plant. The visit includes the introduction of design and construction of desalination plant background, visiting reverse osmosis building, and 4D Cave /safety experience training centre, VR training for TKO desalination plant etc.
