Blockchain is a shared, trusted, public ledger format that everyone can inspect, but no single user can control.  The participants in a blockchain network system collectively keep the ledger up to date:  it can be amended only accordingly to strict rules and by general agreement.  The potential of Blockchain extends beyond electronic currency.  The speaker will discuss the information infrastructure that could possibly change the world.

Biography of the Speaker

Mr. Paul Fung is the Director and CEO of various network and security solution providers, including Photonlink Limited, as well as the Non-Executive Director of ECI Technology Holdings Limited, a listed company specializing in ELV solutions.

Being a renowned industrial leader and innovative technology promoter, he is the Vice-Chairman of Hong Kong Blockchain Development Association and Internet Professional Association, and a committee member in Hong Kong Linux Industrial Association.  He has served the Hong Kong Government by being a member of the Working Group on Cloud Security and Privacy and the Government’s Public Affairs Forum, and he is the Technical Advisor of the Employees Retraining Board.  He is also the Academic Advisor of the Hong Kong Shue Yan University on FinTech Programmes.

Mr. Fung is a regular commentator on innovative technology, particularly on information security, cloud computing, data centre development and FinTech, well loved by the media.  He is also the guest anchor for various TV programmes promoting advanced technology.
