Event Description
The HKIE EVD and CIWEM Hong Kong branch jointly invite you to attend a
technical seminar on sustainable packaging by Suzanne Cheung, Head of
Sustainability at Swire Coca-Cola HK Limited. Suzanne will discuss how Swire
Coca-Cola Hong Kong manage the impact and footprint of their single-use
beverage packaging.
To align with their four-point strategy of “Drink Without
Waste” - reduce, redesign, recover and recycle, Swire Coca-Cola Hong Kong aims
to use 100% technically recyclable packaging and to minimize the weight of
packaging by applying improved packaging design, using new technologies, and
participating in partnerships with key stakeholders to work towards a
closed-loop economy. In this presentation Suzanne will share the past
achievements, committed plans and challenges faced in this sustainable packaging
journey.
About the speaker
Suzanne Cheung is a Corporate Member of the Hong Kong
Institute of Environmental Impact Assessment and the Hong Kong Institute of
Qualified Environmental Professionals with over 20 years of experience, the
last 12 of which have been in senior positions in NGOs and private sector.
Suzanne has diverse expertise related to environmental
sustainability, covering policy advocacy, strategy and management; awareness
promotion and training; research and survey; climate change; waste management;
green purchasing and environmentally preferable products.
Under her past roles in NGOs such as Friends of the Earth
(HK) Charity Limited, WWF Hong Kong and Business Environment Council, Suzanne
developed corporate strategies and plans; led policy responses; execute
industries engagement programmes, recognition schemes and sustainability
consultancy support to different organisations.
Suzanne currently works at Swire Coca-Cola HK Limited as
Head of Sustainability and oversees public affairs and communications. Her main
task is to lead, execute and communicate the sustainability commitments of
Swire Coca-Cola HK, especially regarding beverage packaging materials.
