HKIE-Chan Yat Mei Sophie Room
Programme Highlights:
Buildings bring many environment impacts to
our society, including energy consumption, carbon emission, and waste
generation. In the building and construction sector, building information
modeling (BIM) is a disruptive technology that is increasingly used for design
and construction of our built asset, resulting in reduced error, enhanced
communication, and improved automation and productivity. To support green
buildings, BIM not only provides 3D representations that support model-based
analyses, but also systematically manages and integrates information, thereby
enabling other emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and
Internet of Things (IoT). In this seminar, examples of integrating BIM with AI
and IoT to support smart green buildings will be presented. Opportunities and
challenges will also be discussed.
