Programme Highlights

Tseung Kwan O Landfill Stage II/III was commissioned in 1988 and closed in 1994. Total waste received during operation time is 12.6 million tonnes. The restoration works started in 1997 and completed in 1999.

The visit will focus on restoration facilities such as leachate and landfill gas management, high integrity capping system, landscaping on restored landfill Stage II/III. A new football training center with 6 pitches (3 natural-grass and 3 artificial turf) sitting on the Stage I will be introduced during the visit.
