Programme Highlights
A waste management study mission to South Korea was
organized from 12 to 15 June 2018. The
objective of the mission was to study the waste management and engineering
technologies applied in South Korea.
Various waste management facilities were visited, including an automated
refuse collection site, a waste sorting site with RFID smart bin system, a
plastic recycling plant, and a landfill.
Great exchanges were made with the government of South Korea and local
waste management association regarding their waste management development and
challenges. The participants of the
trip, including members from both HKIE-EVD and HKWMA, will provide their
insights and feedback on the trip.
Speaker
Mr. Jude Chow, is the Group Managing Director of Associated
Engineers, Limited. He has extensive
experience in multiple platforms of engineering projects prior to joining AEL. After
joining AEL Jude has led the company to sustainable growth with internal and
external initiative, of which one of his accomplishments was actively
developing waste related business for technology co-operation and development. Jude also serves as the Chairman of HKWMA,
Vice Chairman of FHKI’s Group 26 Environmental Industries, Chairman of CityU
DBA Community, Vice President of HKEnvIA, Vice Convener and Committee Member of
HKGSA, Committee Member of CAUES, Member of Engineers Australia and Project Management
Committee of HK Government Cleaner Production Partnership Program.
Ir Dr. Anthony Ma is the Deputy General Manager in
Environmental Management Division of the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC).
He has about 30 years of professional experience in water management and waste
recycling. He is in charge of the Environmental Technology and Solution (ETS)
Centre and the Environment and Product Innovation (EPI) Laboratory, and is
leading a professional team for environmental research and engineering consultancy
in HKPC. Dr. Ma is the advisor of the World Green Organization (WGO) and the
Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering (CIPHE - HK Branch). He
is invited by the government to serve in a number of committees and technical
boards.
