Background
Since the ratification of the Paris Agreement in November 2016, countries and businesses across the globe have agreed on the mission of reducing carbon emissions with the goal of transforming to a net zero carbon future in the second half of the century. China has confirmed its commitment through its Nationally Determined Contributions and 13th Five-Year Plan. Hong Kong did the same in issuing its Climate Action Plan 2030+ in January 2017, committing to reduce the carbon intensity of the economy by 65-70% by 2030, amounting to reductions in absolute emissions of 26-36%.

Challenged by disruptive changes, executives must acquire the expertise to manage the impacts while sustaining competitive advantage. BEC, in particular BEC Climate Change Business Forum, aims to help the members and other businesses to build capacity to reduce emissions and to manage the impacts. Join this highly interactive half day executive training, organised by BEC, HKCCI and University of Edinburgh (“UoE”), you will know the current situation in low carbon economy and carbon finance, reveal the risks and opportunities, and develop organisational strategies without jeopardising financial stability through real world examples.

Speaker
Professor Andy Kerr - Professor of Low Carbon and Climate Innovation & Executive Director of Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation (ECCI)
