Seminar on “Testing and Certification Services for Engineers”

Programme Highlights

Testing and certification is essential to environmental protection and construction. 

For example, construction materials are tested to verify that they meet the required safety and environmental standards, air samples are tested to gauge air quality, and management system of an organisation is certified to be in compliance with international environmental management standards. 

The seminar aims to update participants on the latest development in environmental-related testing and certification services amid the trend of eco-friendliness in recent years.

Miss Rebecca Wong, Accreditation Officer, Innovation and Technology Commission

 

There will be two parts to the seminar-  

Part I: Dr Wong will talk about laboratory accreditation and environmental testing.  The goal is to familiarise engineers with the testing services available for environmental samples, with a focus on chemical tests related to construction projects.

 

Part II: Miss Wong will give an overview of ISO 14064 series, greenhouse gas (GHG) quantification and reporting, validation and verification, and related accreditation services.

 

Registration and Enquiries

Event is free of charge. Please register via Environmental Division’s website (http://ev.hkie.org.hk). The number of participants is limited to 80 (first-come-first-served).  Attendance certificate will be available.
