Nerve Centre of System Operation
The System Control Centre (SCC) is the operation nerve
centre of Hong Kong's largest electricity supplier, CLP Power Hong Kong Limited
(CLP Power). Located in Strafford House, Tai Po, and managed by the System
Operation Department of the Power Systems Business Group, it is one of the
world's most advanced power system control centers.
The SCC is responsible for safe, secure and efficient
operations of CLP Power's power system, ensuring our customers receive a
continuous, high quality electricity supply through an extensive network. It
supplies approximately 80% of Hong Kong's power needs. To achieve these
objectives, our engineers direct, monitor and control the real-time generation,
transmission and distribution of electricity on a minute-by-minute basis. They
estimate electricity demand and schedule adequate generation. Working closely
with other operational units within CLP Power and regional counterparts, we
play a key role in delivering a 99.999% reliable electricity supply to our
customers.

1.The technical visit will not be covered by insurance
policy. Members should assess the risk and purchase their own insurance policy
if consider necessary.
2. If Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above /
Rainstorm Red or Black Warning is hoisted until 08:00 a.m. on the date, the
visit will be cancelled.
