Highlights:-
Climate change,
carbon neutrality, circular economy and green economy have now become important
drivers for planning and management of future cities around the world and in
Hong Kong. The latest IPCC report on Mitigation of Climate Change was released
in April this year. In March this year Greater London Authority also released
the requirements on Whole Life Carbon Assessment and Circular Economy statement
for built environment. Coupled with the rapid development of 3D/4D Geographical
Information System and digital twins, these drivers present enormous challenges
and opportunities for engineers around the world. This seminar will present
such challenges and opportunities from a strategic planning and city management
perspective and how engineers may rise to the challenges and seize such
opportunities to create a more sustainable city.
