The Environmental
Division organized the annual Best Final-Year Environmental Project award
scheme to encourage undergraduate students working on environmental-relevant
topicsas their final year projects. Two awardees (team and individual projects)
in the 2019-2020year will present their work in this webinar.
- “Development and Design of IoT for Smart Environment on Sensors, Monitors, and RFID Devices for Water Application”. This project provides a summary on the development of IoT in recent years, as well as to propose a water quality monitoring system for the Lam Tsuen River with IoT technology, and to develop an early warning system to prevent eutrophication.
- “Real-time Detection of Microplastics Using a Smart Fish Model”. This project aimed to develop a robotic fish for real-time detection and monitoring microplastics in the ocean. A home-made monitoring prototype, equipped with water sampling, dye-staining, image capturing, and App modules, was developed in the project.
