Chairman’s Message

I am honoured to serve as the Chairman of the HKIE Environmental Division for Session 2023/2024. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the past chairpersons and committee members for their dedication and valuable contributions to the Division.

Environmental Division has been a long-established and one of the largest divisions at HKIE. Riding on the Presidential theme of “We Engineer, We Serve” for this session, we will continue to strengthen our engagement with key stakeholders and collaboration with various divisions and professional bodies.

Earlier this year, we successfully organized our Annual Forum with the theme “Climate Governance Towards Net-zero Energy and Mobility in Hong Kong – Engineering Challenges and Innovation Opportunities”. This was the first large-scale physical event of Environmental Division after the pandemic. Apart from this flagship event, in this session we will continue to organize various activities including annual reception, technical visits, seminars, awards for environmental projects and papers, etc. We will also support the Hong Kong Engineers Week and co-organize the Greater Bay Area Sustainability Development Forum.
