Chairman’s Message
First of all, I would like to thank for the members
for the confidence and trust in electing me as the Chairman of the Environmental
Division of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers. It will be my great honour and pleasure to
serve.
Looking back over the past years since its formation
in 1986, the EVD has achieved substantial recognition in the environmental
industry. For this, I would wish to
express my appreciation for the leadership and contribution of our Past
Chairmen and Chairladies. Their
footsteps would be hard to follow, and I shall endeavour, together with
Committee Members in the new term to do my humble best to deliver what are
expected of the EVD. My heartful
gratitude is given to all retiring Committee Members for their contributions in
the past too. I would also like to extend a warm welcome to our newly elected
Committee Members. I look forward to collaborating closely with all of them in
the new term, mobilising the resources in promoting knowledge & experience
sharing amongst our members and other professional bodies, nurturing young
generation, engaging our members, and raising the standing of engineers.
Looking ahead, we will continue to participate in
various public consultations to address various environmental policies and issues
and encourage our engineers to be environmentally aware to engineer a
sustainable and efficient future of Hong Kong. We
will leverage HKIE EVD’s thought leadership and knowledge, networks and
connections, and the experience and commitment of our members and partners in
driving environmental excellence. With my wide exposure and relationships, I aim
to build stronger connections among our members, the local business community,
the Hong Kong government, as well as other stakeholders. Together, we will
support Hong Kong in achieving the target of carbon neutrality before 2050.
I look
forward to your continuous support and participation in our events and
activities.
